Blackberry Curve 9380

After years of producing devices that have been renowned for their excellent Qwerty keypads RIM have finally released a full touchscreen device as part of their Curve range of models. The Blackberry Curve 9380 is the perfect phone for people who want the excellent messaging features that are traditionally associated with these devices but with a larger screen perfect for web browsing.

Earlier in the year we saw some new models released in the Blackberry Bold range that saw a small capacitive touchscreen added above the traditional Qwerty keypad. With the new Curve 9360 Blackberry have gone a step further and totally eliminated the keypad and fitted a high quality 3.2 inch display capable of displaying a respectable resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. This screen shows a total of 188 pixels per inch which is much lower than many premium models but we must not forget that this is a budget smartphone and this rating is superior to many models offered at a comparable price. There are four capacitive keys located beneath the screen as well as the famous optical trackpad for times when you need some very precise navigation. In terms of design the model measures 109 x 60 x 11.2 mm which makes it a compact phone that certainly should not feel to obtrusive when placed in a pocket. At 98 grammes in weight the model is also one of the most lightweight phones that you are likely to encounter weighing nearly 40 grammes lighter than the iPhone 4S. Despite its incredibly light weight the phone manages to feel like a premium device and boasts the excellent build quality we have come to associate with Blackberry models. (more…)

This 2011, the Canadian phone manufacturer has released 2 more versions of this popular model in the UK. These are the Blackberry Torch 9860 and the 9810.

Let’s start with the 9810. If you compare both the predecessor and the successor, you will notice only a few minor changes. You might not see any changes to the design at all. Both phones sport the same display, track pad, and slide out QWERTY keyboard. Their dimensions are identical as well. The huge difference can be found under the hood. The original version packs a modest 624 MHz single-core processor under the hood. Its predecessor rocks a 1.2 GHz CPU. This will push performance levels to whole new heights. With twice as much clock speed, you are sure to enjoy more processing power. This is when you will notice the difference. (more…)
